When God Brings Peace After Letting Go

Sometimes peace doesn’t come when things finally make sense, it comes when you finally stop trying to make them make sense.

For a long time, I held onto something I believed was God’s promise, a man I thought was my husband, even though nothing about his actions aligned with that word. I prayed, cried, and tolerated confusion because I didn’t want to “miss” God’s will.

Then another person appeared; charming, ready for marriage, saying all the right things. For a moment it felt like a rescue. But deep down, I knew I was clinging to a new distraction instead of surrendering the old one.

So one night, I prayed differently.
I didn’t ask for a sign or a promise.
I asked for clarity; for God to remove anyone who wasn’t part of His plan for my destiny.

The next morning, I woke up with stillness in my heart. No craving for validation, no need to reach out, no emotional chaos. Just… peace.

That’s when I learned:

When you release control, God releases peace.
When you stop chasing closure, He brings clarity.

If you’re in a season where love, promises, or timing feel uncertain, remember this: peace is proof that God is in control.
You don’t have to chase what’s meant to stay.
You don’t have to hold together what God is gently pulling apart.
Wait with wisdom, and let Him write the story in His time.
